About Graphic Designer Leon Harmon
Leon Harmon has developed his artistic ability to accommodate his creativity in translating his ideas into various visual mediums. Leon started his delve into the professional visual design realm while in high school where he was hired to design custom body art for Ancient Body Art, a local body art company and their private clientele. While still pursuing body art as a profession he started the Computer Animation Bachelors program at The Art Institute of Atlanta (AIA). At AIA he was introduced to the tools and terms used in the computer animation field in film, television, web, print, and gaming industries.
In December of 2002 Leon completed his Computer Animation Bachelors program at AIA and landed his first job in broadcast animation at Wild hare Studios where his works appeared on Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. Continuing to develop his artistic ability he also completed serialized content for the comic book Theol to add another notch on his belt. After attaining his confidence in the two-dimensional at Wild hare Studios Leon pursued the three-dimensional realm particular in the gaming industry. The desire to pursue professional 3D art in gaming lead him to X Factory Studios in 2003, where he was part of all facets of art production for console game titles. Creating game art became more fluent to him as he took a position as a 3d modeler in 2004 at Karma for production on an online rpg title.
Experimenting with his artistic ability, Leon left creating game art behind and started a novelty apparel company with several acquaintances in 2005. His work was used for several shirt designs that were sold to over two hundred retail locations in the southeast and the Midwest. This is also where Leon learned to wear hats as an artist, production manager, and as a representative of the company when meeting with clientele.
The need for creating game art call Leon back into the gaming industry in 2006 when he joined the development team at Rapid Reality working on several PC and console titles. At Rapid Reality Leon was responsible for the artistic endeavor from the visual concept to production. Leon was also given the opportunity to participate in high-level game design to ensure consistent artistic vision of the projects thus leading him to continue his career in the gaming and publishing industries.
