This year's FORUM is designed to enhance the leadership skills of all adults who are seeking to strengthen interventions among school, community, and families, especially to assist those in at-risk situations.

During the FORUM, innovative, skilled presenters who have excellent ideas, proven programs, and evidence-based research will share in the areas of (1) workforce preparation, (2) literacy (helping struggling readers), (3) attendance/truancy, (4) teen pregnancy prevention, (5) after-school programs, (6) students with disabilities, (7) resiliency and (8) service-learning.

Conference Details

The National Forum on Dropout Prevention Strategies for Native and Tribal Communities is a professional development activity sponsored by the National Dropout Prevention Center/Network, and the AZ Department of Education. The theme of this Institute is "Reconnecting Native Youth to Education."

This Institute will feature nationally known keynote speakers as well as professional educators. Presentations will emphasize a variety of strategies that work with native students who are at risk of dropping out of school before high school graduation.

The following Pre-Institute Workshops will also be offered
1- Building and Sustaining a Model Graduation Program for Native American Youth
2- Project Venture: Effective Dropout Prevention Program for Native Americans
3- Helping Students Graduate: Strategies and Tools to Prevent Dropouts

2009 AAMBC National Meeting
June 13-14, 2009

Two days, one location, multiple events, and explosive book signings. The 2009 AAMBC National Meeting, is coming to San Antonio, Texas June 13-14 2009.
