We Are Accepting Submissions

Here are some criteria to help guide your child in their writing and will enhance the chance of their story being picked for publishing.

1. A story that is funny and make others laugh out loud
2. A story that is sad
3. A story with colorful words and descriptions
4. A story with lots of details
5. A story that has a lesson

The main difference between Self Publishing and Traditional Publishing is there is no up front cost to you. However, your child’s work is subject to:

• No guarantee of publication
• More competition
• Parents/guardian must sign an agreement and release for child’s image to be used in marketing print and media.
• Parents/guardian must sign an agreement and release for child will show up at requested events and signings.
• See our publishing information and must follow the same application and submission process for all books.

Each book is subject to a title chance and editing and will be published as an individual work or anthology. The chosen method of publishing will be outlined in your acceptance letter at which time you can accept or reject terms. Rejecting any of the listed terms indicates that you are withdrawing your child’s submission.

Universal Write Publications LLC does not guarantee book availability in Bookstores or major distributors.

By accepting publication and publishing terms for your youngster, you also agree to help market your child by telling your child’s school, extracurricular events and social networks.

For more information and to request a publishing packet:

Submit:

1. A letter telling us a little about your young author, and must include their name, age, school and principal.
2. Your mailing address, Phone Number and Email
3. Name and contact information of Parent or Guardian
4. Submit a copy of your young authors COMPLETED book (Due to overwhelming submissions, works will not be returned. Be sure to keep a copy.)

Requirements:

1. Story must make sense to editors and proof readers
2. A bio and photo of the author (send appropriate photos of children fully clothed). Photos can be funny, quirky, surprising to express your child’s personality.
3. Typed double space 12 point Times New Roman font
4. Complete book must be submitted
5. Each book must be a minimum of 7 pages and a maximum of 10 pages for children under ten years old (10 yrs)
6. Each book must be a minimum of 10 pages for children over ten years old (10yrs) with no maximum page count.
7. Parent signed and notarized release for digital and print use of child’s image
8. Signed publishing and royalty agreement.
9. Signed parental release.

We will email you within one week of receiving your submission and 2-3 weeks with a complete publishing packet if your child’s story has been accepted.
